First Meeting with the Oncologist

Today Ryan had his first Oncologist appointment. Things went well and questions were answered. We still do not know what stage the Hodgkin's is in, there are more tests that need to be done to determine that. He had some more blood work done today, and will have a few other tests next Monday (6th) and Tuesday (7th). Ryan will also be having his Port (a small IV under the skin where treatment will be given, so not to prick his arm every time), Monday, April 13th.
His first chemotherapy treatment will be on Friday, April 17, 2009. There will be 4-6 cycles of treatment, which will be 2 treatments per month for the next 4-6 months.

We are still believing God for healing before treatment begins, but if that is not the route the Lord wants to take, then we will take it as it is, a trial, and our faith will not be shaken. God is in control! He is not surprised. Through this we will see miracles and more people come to know Jesus Christ!

Isaish 53:5
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. It is an overwhelming comfort in this time of uncertainties. We know God is listening to all the prayers and honoring those who are praying. We love and appreciate you all, even those who have decided to pray not even knowing us. You are a blessing!

Best blessings,
Ryan and Elanea

This sounds like the same treatment Noah's receiving right now. I truly believe things will be fine for Ryan, but that doesn't mean this time isn't confusing, scary and unbelievable. We will continue to pray.

WE love you and are praying for supernatural strength and peace as you face this together. God is still in control and will use the detour in your lives as part of your "story" that will touch many. You are an incredible couple and incredible individuals and you have a army of people praying! Love you.

I found out about your site and circumstances through Brent Riggs. I'm SO sorry to hear about this!

My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer about 2 years ago. She's been through radiation and chemo. She continues chemo every 3 weeks via the port in her chest. Her only regret is that she didn't check into clinical trials prior to starting chemo because once you start your options are really limited. Most of the time you can't participate in clinicals once you've started chemo. I thought I would point this out in case you didn't know. You still have time if you want to pursue something like this. It's just a suggestion and something to prayerfully consider.

Again, I'm so sorry! I in part know your pain. I'll be praying. God is in control!
